Designing unusual apartments with unusual histories is an invaluable experience. This was a present of an apartment, an apartment-surprise for the father of the client, who is an indispensable helping hand in their family, an adored grandfather that spends loads of time with his granddaughters, and who, while being all this, is at the same time a youngish, active and unmarried man. The design had to be finished in complete secrecy and in limited time as a birthday gift for the beloved dad and grandpa. We are still sorry we could not have a glimpse at his face when the day came, but we know from a reliable source that the dad was very well pleased.
